My wife and I had just arrived at Great Basin NP and learned that thunderstorms were expected later in the week, and so we decided to climb Wheeler Peak in good weather the next day. On the way to the summit at 13,065 feet while the challenging terrain tested our hiking legs, the grandeur (along with the thin air) just took our breath away! This photo is at one such stop as my wife was climbing up.
