A group of I think mule deer were crossing the Madison River, and I sat on a log and snapped while these three crossed. In this picture I assume the mother became aware the current of the river was possibly too strong, she stopped to protect her baby. The other deer continued, but the mother stopped, at one point she used her body to keep the baby from being swept away with the current. I like this picture, I feel it shows the mother's concern for the baby as the other deer walks on.
