While approaching Liberty Island on Oct. 27, 2012, I was able to get a pictue of Lady Liberty. This was the weekend the Statue of Liberty was reopened after being refurbished. After taking the picture, I noticed something on one the crown's spikes. I wasn't sure what it was, so I zoomed in with my computer when I got home...sure looks like an Eagle to me! How appropriate! Two days later Liberty Island was again closed, this time because of Hurricane Sandy.
