This is Lake McDonald, the largest lake on the West side of the Park at about 9 miles long. On this crisp early February day in 2012, I explored the beach and the colorful variety of stones all the while the sun began setting. The background is the Garden Wall on which the Going to the Sun Road is built as it traverses the park over the Continental Divide at Logan Pass.
