Surprise encounter with mountain goat on a day hike to Colchuck Lake in Okanagon National Forest. While this was quite a surprise to see one up close and personal it still did not prepare us for the trip to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness that we were training for. Three weeks later on the four day hike through the Alpine Lakes it was not unusual for our camp to be surrounded by the beasts. The Alpine Lakes Wilderness is absolutely stunning!
