This photo was taken on the night of November 3, 2012 at 9:56pm. They were doing prescribed burn of dead vegetation in the forest area of the canyon which can be seen in the left background of the photo. It was pitch black with only the faint light of the moon, so I could not even see the area that I was shooting. I did a 30 min. exposure, and was very excited to see what I got. People walking by were wondering what I was shooting since the canyon was pitch black, but now my secret is out.
