From Genesis in the Bible, it can be taken that the lights created, were to divide, to rule, and to give light. Contemplating the pictured September morning, it is easy to accept the role of the sun, to give light, to divide, and to rule. Beholding this grand creation, one's eye is indeed directed by the sun.
