Fallen leaf in a bed of blue flowers along the trail - I was hiking along the Backbone Trail in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. As I looked down I saw this beautiful creation of nature. This leaf had peacefully floated down and found a resting spot in a bed of tiny blue flowers in a dip on the surface of a boulder in the trail. It is an amazing piece of art solely created by random acts of nature.
