Learning that snow was forecast in Rocky Mountain National Park during our May visit to Colorado, my husband, friends, and I drove to the park for the day. We were pleasantly surprised to see the elk active in the snow. I enjoyed photographing them even in heavy snow and low light. At one point, the two young elk seemed to nuzzle and then began to play. That moment was my favorite memory from that spring snowy day.
