Slot Canyon danger. Mile Canyon is a deep water filled canyon on Lake Powell. The boat across from us set anchor in front of a slot canyon. We watched as an afternoon monsoon filled the slot canyon spewing violent water. Because the owners were under a ledge, a huge silt boulder crashed down onto the boat taking out the antenna and destroying part of the canopy.
