A nearby fire enhances the color of the dawn sky at Mono Lake in California. A sanctuary for birds, millions stop here every year during migration. The tufa (TWO-fuh) formation in the foreground looks similar to a bird, like a bird monument. A great place to photograph, with Yosemite and the Sierras across the street.
