Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument
at 7:16am PST on 9 Sept 2012. The morning on Johnston Ridge turned out to be extremely windy with gusts strong enough to blow the camera and tripod over if not held tight. The wind on Mount St Helens created the dust and ash clouds that mimicked smoke and volcanic activity.
The shutter was tripped during a lull in the wind gusts.
