The Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge is very small but very beautiful. My grandparents own a house that sits atop a bluff south of the Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. Though there isn’t much recreation to be had in the marsh, aside from clam digging and bird watching- the Coquille River, which borders the marsh, is hosts fishermen and a hand full of sea kayakers each day. I chose to share this photo because I wanted to show how even the smallest protected wildlife area can be stunning. A forest doesn’t have to be expansive to be enchanting, and a marsh doesn’t have to be a great bayou to capture your sense of wonder.
