By pristine, early morning calm, this is Wild Goose Island. They say there were two tribes; each inhabited a side of the Lake, but never met. One day a maiden swam from her side of the lake to the Island. A brave on the opposite shore couldn't resist and swam to meet the beautiful maiden. There they fell in love and met again every day. Both tribes were against the relationship and sent war partys to end it. The Great Spirit turned the two lovers into geese and they flew away to happiness
