My husband has spent the last few years delving into the rich history of bluegrass and old-time music. These uniquely American folk styles are regaining popularity in the Pacific Northwest where we live, and despite our distance from the Blue Ridge of the music's origin, nothing seems more appropriate than banjo melodies over the mountains at sunset. (he is pictured here playing a refurbished 1890s Buckbee banjo on Hurricane Ridge.)
