This amazing landscape is product of numerous layers of volcanic ash sculpted by erosion into these remarkable hills. Consisting of small grains of multi colored ash they are very delicate. They have been fenced in an attempt to keep even the wildlife from damaging this natural wonder as footprints will destroy these unique dunes.
