Isle Royale is famous for the extensive prey-predator studies of its moose and wolf populations. As of 2011 there were around 700 moose on an island, so I have good chance to meet some. And after a week of hiking through numerous trails on Isle Royale, I met cow and her calf on my last day not far from Rock Harbor Campground.
It was dense forest and it was hard to get a picture, but I love the short were I catch cow eyes trough thick branches.
