On an 8-day kayak expedition in Glacier Bay National Park, my husband and I were thrilled to discover a beautiful mother grizzly and two curious cubs down by the water as we rounded a rocky point in our kayak. This picture was likely taken as the three bears caught the smell of a nearby male that had just arrived close-by.
