Fort Knox located in Prospect, Maine is a Revolutionary Fort built to stop the British fleet from coming the Penobscot Narrows river. Built by the same Mr. Knox that supervised the building of the other Fort Knox in Kentucky. It is the only fort in Maine built completely from Maine granite.
