New River Gorge National River

Rappelling from the New River Bridge. For over 30 years, an annual festival has been held at the New River Bridge in West Virginia, celebrating the gorge, the river, fall, friends and life itself. Once a year, it's legal to rappel off the bridge as a qualified member on a team. I captured this shot of my friend as he was nearing the ground. There is a tiny speck in the sky in the upper right corner of the photo that is actually a base-jumper before he opened his chute.
