This photograph was taken by my 17-year-old son James Klopp, so here is his story of it:
This photo was taken on our last night visiting Arches National Park in the summer of 2025. It was a picturesque scene as the sun set in the west. At the same moment, an almost full moon rose from behind the Sierra La Sal Mountains with the sun reflecting a pink glow off the snow-covered peaks. The best part of it all was the iconic location my family and I saw this happen at: Balanced Rock where a family just so happened to arrive at the the base of the rock, offering a great sense of scale in this wonderful moment. The Van and RV in the foreground symbolize adventure and curiosity as National parks like Arches offer a chance for people to escape into wonderful moments like the one I captured in this photo where people don't have a reason to worry in this world.
