Brown Belted Bumblebee (Bombus griseocolis)
On a hike through the Tahoe Meadows Interpretive Loop we spied this handsome specimen resting on a purple thistle flower. He lingered long enough to get a good look at bright colored bristles and notice the absence of pollen sacs meaning it is likely male.
