While walking on the Washington, D.C. side of the Potomac River, I captured this view of tourists boating in a red canoe in the shadow of a stone footbridge on the Virginia side of the Potomac Heritage Trail. A highway overpass just above the tourists and the bridge reminds the viewer that the Potomac Heritage Trail is an NPS trail that, through filled with views of nature, is very much in the midst of an urban setting.
