The photo captures the mossy green wonderland that the Windfall Lake Trail traverses in the Tongass National Forest. A good portion of the trail is on boardwalks that keep your feet dry in the usually wet conditions. My visit on August 27, 2025 was dry and sunny so the colors of the trail were vibrant.
