This blue heron might have been attempting to bite off more than it could chew! This is my favorite shot from a series of pictures where the heron was hunting. The heron flew off before I could see whether or not it managed to choke down its big catch! Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge is an amazing place to observe nature with many sights like this visible from the road - making it a great place for anyone who has an interest in birds to come and observe.
