One of the final parks of my solo cross country motorcycle trip from New Jersey, Death Valley. The was a serious storm system to the west of Death Valley. I entered from Beatty, NV. When I came through Daylight pass the wind was incredible, gusts had to have been at least 50 mph, nearly blowing my 700 pound Triumph Trophy over. I could see the storm raging in the west, rain dumping from the dark sky, the wind howling across the desert, I sheltered my motorcycle from the wind on the side of the concrete structure at the information center and assessed the storm. being aware of the serious risk of flash floods I waited patiently watching the radar and visually tracking the storm. I then determined it looked safe to proceed, cautiously. This delay lead me to this moment with this spectacular cloud cover and this photo and a memory that will last a lifetime.
