Chasm Lake was my summer goal—one I planned to conquer during our girls’ trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in July. When my friend unexpectedly needed surgery just days before, we had to pivot and skip the hike because of how intense it is.
So I came back. On my 36th birthday in September I returned to the mountains, laced up my boots, and completed my goal. It was absolutely stunning and a birthday I will never forget.
