I took this single exposure shot on a ridge overlooking Reflection Canyon in the Glen Canyon Recreation Area. I was about to fall asleep until sunrise, when I realized the Milky Way was aligned with my sleeping mat.
A couple of minutes later I had gotten the shot, and hopefully not kept my campmates up for too long!
The Glen Canyon Recreation Area is one of the last great dark sky areas on the planet, and it was the pleasure of a lifetime to get to sit underneath the stars there.
