The Silver Bridge in the Grand Canyon, built around 1965, is a hiker-only suspension bridge downstream from the historic Black Bridge, connecting the Bright Angel Trail to Phantom Ranch and the North Rim; its main purpose was to carry the vital Trans-Canyon water pipeline, providing water to the South Rim after a flood damaged the old system, offering hikers unique views directly over the Colorado River as they cross.
