On a photographic-oriented road trip through Utah, I'd planned to visit Capitol Reef. While in the area, I heard about Factory Butte, so on my last morning, I decided to drive out there on the dirt road. Before me in the morning sun rose this massive monolith, surrounded by other-worldly eroded landscapes. It was a memorable morning, and I was glad my schedule allowed me the flexibility to take this detour. It helps being retired!
