This photo was taken the day before a wildfire ripped through Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in July 2025. As I look at this photo -- probably one of the very last of this scene to be taken -- I am emboldened in my desire to visit and protect all of our National Park lands sooner rather than later, before time, disaster, or man forever alter them.
