I had been photographing the historic chapel in the falling snow, hoping to capture the stillness and quiet charm of this little wooden landmark. Later, on a whim, I stepped in front of my own lens, feeling the crisp air settle on my jacket as the moment settled into memory. With snowflakes drifting down and the chapel glowing softly behind me, I felt both the solitude and the serenity that Yosemite reveals only in winter.
