The Maroon Lake area southwest of Aspen is always spectacular. In late September, the various hues provided by the red rocks, the evergreen trees, and the autumn aspen leaves make it especially beautiful. Sometimes, clouds and fog from clearing storms make the scene even more magical. This photo of Sievers Mountain was shot on September 23.
