Picture Lake is one of the most photographed locations in Western Washington, but for this shot I wanted to approach it a little differently. I focused on the grass in the foreground and used it as the main subject, letting the iconic view of Mount Shuksan become a softer backdrop. The clear skies at sunrise provided gentle, even light, and a thin layer of mist hanging over the lake added a quiet, atmospheric touch. It was a calm, beautiful morning that felt worth slowing down for.
