We hit the jackpot during a weekend getaway to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore - great weather, calm waters, good friends, and spectacular scenery. My husband and I love kayaking the sea caves and especially enjoy taking "first timers" to introduce them to the rare beauty of Lake Superior from the unique perspective of a kayak. The big lake is mesmerizing and with the right, safe conditions, kayaking the shoreline is one of the most exhilarating yet calming experiences to be had. It is surreal.
