When an out of town friend came to stay with my partner and myself in Alexandria Va, we took him to downtown D.C. for lunch and after that a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture which is on the National Mall. Outside of the museum afterwards I noticed the sharp contrast between the dark jagged tiered sides of the museum and the light colored straight lined stone outline of the Washington Monument and thought it would make an interesting picture.
