Taken in June 2025, in Great Basin National Park, the twisted wood of an ancient bristlecone pine seems to reveal faces within its weathered bark. These natural patterns, shaped by centuries of wind, sun, and snow, give the tree a timeless character — as if the land itself were watching over the mountains. Bristlecones are among the oldest living beings on Earth, and in their bark and grain you can almost see the memory of ages past.
