Aurora over the Grand Canyon! Two words I never imagined would be placed together. This photo was taken August of 2024, there were rumors circulating about the odds of the aurora making its appearance down to the northern edge or Arizona. After a long shift in the emergency department I decided to take a chance and make the 2 hour drive to the canyon. It wasn’t until 1 am and a break in the clouds the aurora faintly painted the sky. Just to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me, I set up my camera to take a few long exposure shots and sure enough she blanketed the canyon with a rare sight!
