My roommates and I went backpacking in Denali NP shortly after moving to Alaska, and went about 6 miles back towards the mountains. We saw some caribou, ptarmigan, and a decent number of bones. We also found a very interesting beaver dam and some beaver bones. It was interesting to see how they had shaped the landscape (I believe environmental engineers is the term), but we didn't see any live beavers.
