Mesa Verde is an amazing site where early native Americans established vibrant farming communities nearly 1,000 years ago. We were awed by their craftsmanship and the design of the dwellings, and how tricky access could be as shown in the photo. This is a view at the start of our descent. We did manage to visit all four sites that offered tours, and getting a ticket to visit the Square Tower site is by far the most difficult.
