In wildlife photography, I feel as though we tend to focus on the rare animals or large mammals. These are so much fun to photograph, and the result is often majestic; however, I believe the smaller and more common subjects also deserve their time in the spotlight. This guy caught my eye as this particular raven seemed to follow me on my hike up to Delicate Arch. After a few minutes of them being behind me, I pulled out my camera. I was impressed by the details in the feathers and the reflection of arches in its eye, which I would never have noticed if it hadn't decided to take this photo. It was a valuable lesson to me that just because something is common, that doesn't mean they aren't worthy of a closer look.
