Very few places still have wild horses, but this park preserves the land the way Teddy Roosevelt knew it, and that includes herds of wild horses roaming the beautiful (if stark) landscape. We often forget how much wildlife preserves the sense of wilderness and history of a site; here at Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the land is still wild, and so are the horses.
