Believe it or not, Glen Echo Park (a former amusement park outside of DC) is managed by the National Park Service. This photo was shot on "Carousel Day" marking the beginning of the informal summer season at the Park. The Dentzel Carousel at Glen Echo is 104 years old. It has 28 Jumpers, 12 Standing, 12 Menagerie, 2 Chariot options for riding. It has been a nationwide attraction for years. On a late Spring Day, like the one on which I took this photo, people come from all over the area to enjoy rides and also puppet shows, dance performances, picnics, and community.
