With a mountain as grand as Mt. Rainier, it's hard to capture a unique photo that sums up what it feels like to be standing in it's presence. Photographing Mt. Rainier National Park becomes a game of finding interesting foregrounds more than anything. Paired with an understanding of the sun's location relative to each of the many trails in the park, a photo that depicts the sensation of standing near the prominent 14,000 ft volcano may be gleaned. The volcanic rock of nearby peaks pair with an August setting sun, provides a sharp contrast between a bright orange foreground and the cool blue shade of Rainier with a hiker enjoying the final moments of sun.
