Although Halekala National Park on the island of Maui is most known as a coveted sunrise location, sunset is just as epic. Shooting in the direction of the dormant volcanic crater becomes almost easier since the sun is positioned behind you in the western sky. Without shooting towards the sun, the subtle differences in adjacent volcanic colors become clear in the shade of the volcano's rim. The shadow of the main peak provides contrast in the sea of clouds. Warm glowing clouds of daylight fight against the increasingly abundant cool clouds of night.
