Atop Artist Point in the winter is one of the most magical places Washington state has to offer. During the winter, there's a big chance you're hiking through the clouds that provide such a peaceful blanket of snow. While the clouds often obscure views of the surrounding peaks, they also offer the opportunity for some really incredible moments of light breaking through. This scene was shot shortly after I moved from New England to Washington, chasing after my love for nature, mountains and photography. Moving in the winter and not being a skiier, I didn't expect much time in the mountains for my first several months. Hearing about this epic snowshoe locale, my partner and I made our way up to Baker and were gifted with this glorious scene. It seems I have found my Heaven on Earth.
