Hiking the Zirkel Circle counter-clockwise in Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest provides an epic reveal after cresting the main mountain pass. The namesake peak of the hike, Mt. Zirkel, and the dramatic Agnes Mountain are set as backdrops for the serene Gilpin Lake. This was taken as the first flurries of the year ceased and the sky opened up with dramatic light. For a moment, the flurries continued while the sun was out. A friend of mine has always said that sunshowers tell us we're where we're meant to be, so sunshowers of snow have always felt even more destiny-bound to me.
