Lighthouses help guide mariners safely to shore. As a boater I have used lighthouses to help identify where I am at; avoid rocks and shoals; and to make it home safely. Bodie Island Lighthouse is part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. I went there to try and capture lighthouses with the Milkyway. I enjoyed walking on the boardwalks and reading the interpretive signs to learn the history of this specific lighthouse.
