This photo was taken during a multiple day solitary backpacking trip at Guadalupe Mountains National Park in September 2023. I booked a backcountry site in one of the more desolate and less visited areas of the park, which was a gruelling 10 mile hike up into the mountains and then back down almost to the desert floor. I am a musician, so I brought a banjo along with me for the trip, which added some extra weight but was worth it! The photo was taken with my Canon Rebel SLR camera.
