We started our hike to Mills Lake very early on an extremely foggy morning! We had completed this hike many times over the years, but this particular morning was most unusual. The fog was so dense, visibility was about 20 feet and therefore, most of the views as you climb higher and higher were just not there. After several hours of hiking the fog began to dissipate. It felt as though we were climbing above the fog and entering an ancient world. We could see the tips of the evergreen trees beginning to appear as the sun burned it's way through. This lone tree was holding steadfast, as it has for most likely hundreds of years! Hiking is not just walking, it's the feelings you experience while walking. You have to do it, to feel it !!
